The wrestling world knows him better by his ring name "Macho Man" Randy Savage...
"Macho Man" Randy Savage. He is a second-generation professional wrestler; his father Angelo Poffo was a well-known wrestler in the 1950s and 1960s, who was featured in Ripley's Believe It or Not! for his ability to do sit-ups for hours on end.[10]
Randy's brother Lanny had a moderately successful career as a wrestler, too, most notably under the names "Leaping Lanny Poffo".
Randy first broke into the business in 1973 during the fall and winter of the baseball off season.[3] His first wrestling character, "The Spider Friend", was similar to Spider-Man.[3] It is interesting to note that he would appear as a wrestler in the first Spider-Man film in 2002.
His name change from Randy Poffo came at the suggestion of Georgia Championship WrestlingbookerOle Anderson, who said that the name Poffo didn't fit someone who "wrestled like a savage".[3] During this transition from Poffo to Savage, he also toyed with the idea of wrestling as a blue clad medicine man named "The Big Geno", rumors were spread of a drug problem during his first few matches, as was common with early independent wrestlers, and Savage quietly put to rest the short lived Geno.[3] To this day Savage refuses to answer questions regarding The Big Geno and, eerily enough, he seems to become visibly shaken when this pseudonym is brought up.[3] When he decided to abandon his baseball career, he became a full time wrestler working with his brother and father.[3] Savage wrestled his first match against Midwest territory wrestler, the "Golden Boy" Paul Christy. Randy worked with his father and brother in Michigan, the Carolinas, Georgia, the Maritimes, and the eastern Tennessee territory run by Nick Gulas.[2] is a former Americanprofessional wrestler and actor Savage is best known for his time with Total Nonstop Action Wrestling (TNA), World Championship Wrestling (WCW) and most notably World Wrestling Federation (WWF). For much of his tenure in the WWF, he was managed by his real life wife, "Miss Elizabeth" Hulette.[3] (GCW)
Savage became instantly recognizable by wrestling fans for his distinctively deep, husky voice, colorful attire (often comprised of sunglasses and a bandanna, gaudy robes and/or a cowboy hat), intensity exhibited in and out of the ring, his catch phrase "Oooh, yeah!" and his strange interviews which often digress into cryptic nonsense.[3]
Savage is a six-time world champion, with four WCW title reigns and two WWF title reigns. In WWF, he was a 2 timeWWF Champion,[4][5] a 1 timeIntercontinental Champion[6][5] and the winner of 1987 King of the Ring tournament.[7][5] In WCW, he was a 4 timeWCW World Heavyweight Champion[8][5] and the winner of 1995World War 3 battle royal.[9][5]
Savage was born in Columbus, Ohio to Angelo Poffo, an Italian American, and Judy, a Jewish American.[10]
He was (born November 15, 1952), he graduated from Downers Grove North High School in a suburb near Chicago, Illinois. Randy Poffo attended Southern Illinois University and graduated in 1971. After college, Randy was a minor league baseballcatcherSt. Louis Cardinals, Cincinnati Reds, and Chicago White Sox farm systems.[1] He injured his natural (right) throwing shoulder at one point so he learned to throw with his left arm instead. When Poffo played for the St. Petersburg Cardinals minor-league baseball team in 1971, one of his teammates was Keith Hernandez. The team was managed by Jimmy Piersall.[11]Dial M For Monkey segment on an episode of Dexter's Laboratory. He has also lent his voice to the online cartoon College University in which he voiced himself. He also appeared in an episode of the television program Space Ghost Coast to Coast, entitled "Piledriver." In the episode, Savage supplied the voice of Space Ghost's grandfather, a former professional wrestler. Zorak commented, "That sounds like Randy Savage," and the character also referenced Elizabeth, his brother, "Leapin'" Lanny Poffo, "Wildfire" Tommy Rich, and Haystacks Calhoun.
Savage beat out rival former wrestler Goldbergas the casting choice to appear in Spider-Man(2002) as the underground wrestler "Bonesaw McGraw." The original character from the comics is named Crusher Hogan. It was his "Bonesaw McGraw" character that has inspired fans of Clarkson University Hockey to bring the Bonesaw to hockey games to use as an intimidating gesture to the other teams as well as support the Golden Knights team. An entire website has been devoted to this cause, www.bonesaw.org.[96] In 2005, he provided the voice of Sasquatch in the Nickelodeon show The X's. He appeared on The Jeff Foxworthy Show as himself and played pro wrestler James "Pretty Boy" Carter on the His character's financial bankruptcy and physical injuries led Dwight (Nick Von Esmarch) his long-time fan, to rethink his own options between a college education and a passion for wrestling.
Savage played a prison inmate who was forced to fight other inmates in a cage in the episode "Fight or Die" of Walker, Texas Ranger. In 1999, Macho Man appeared as himself on Mad About You in "Separated Beds." In the episode Savage wrestles "Gorilla Boy" (Marvin), and wins only after Ira, Marvin's manager, tells him to bite Marvin on the back of the foot, his Achilles heel. Savage responds by asking, "Is he basically a clean guy?" before he bites Marvin. Marvin's mom then attacks Savage resulting in a brawl in the ring. He also acted in an episode of The Weird Al Show.
In 2007, Savage appeared in the King of the Hill episode, "Bill, Bulk and the Body Buddies." He was also briefly shown in Family Guy in the episode "The Cleveland–Loretta Quagmire."

When Phil Hellmuth did an interview on Sirius Satellite Radio recently, he said that Savage will be on the next season of VH1's The Surreal Life along with Playboy PlaymateTina Marie Jordan and rock musician Peter Steele. This has been verified by Savage himself in a press release, though VH1 has not released the official cast list yet.

Currently there are no felons in Congress.Upon conviction you get expelled. I had to look it up Larry Craig had a misdeameanor. Jim Traficant was the last member to be expelled after being convicted on 10 felony counts. Interestingly he ran for his old seat while in prison serving an 8 year jail sentance and got 15% of the vote. It seems while you can't be a convicted felon and vote but you can run for office as one. Now W G. Bush has never been convicted of a felony. His convictions were all misdeameanors.
Did you know that the state of Illinois has passed legislation that if any elected official is convicted of a felony, he or she automatically forfeits retirement benefits. Such a law discourages taking kickbacks and bribes.

There is no polite way to say this: Americans are fat, and they're getting fatter. More than 60 million Americans are obese, up from 23 million in 1980. Another 28 million are expected to join their ranks by 2013. Forget the stereotypes: It's not just people in low-income neighborhoods who are packing on the pounds at McDonald's (Research). Researchers at the University of Iowa have found that obesity rates are rising most rapidly among urbanites who earn $60,000 or more per year. Heretofore, the main business response to this overwhelming demographic trend has been the $49 billion weight-loss industry. But now a much broader segment of corporate America has begun to see the nation's fattening for what it is: a potentially powerful driver of consumer demand across a wide swath of the economy. Just as baby boomers have driven business and shaped the economy during the past half century, the "plus-size" population is likely to dictate marketing trends through much of the 21st. Already, greater girth is forcing American business to rethink -- albeit carefully -- the way it designs and sells everything from sofas and toilets to clothes. The new wave is that women and men are packing on the pounds and instead of trying to loose the weight, they buy bigger clothes!
The other day I was out making a sales call and I meet a lady that had a stroke, imagine my surprise when I found out she was only 49... Then I hear about Nate Dogg who is a successful 39 year old rapper who has had two strokes in the last 2 years. Honestly speaking I thought strokes only happened to older people, so this struck close to home. Did you know what causes a stroke? Well a Stroke is a disease that affects the blood vessels that supply blood to the brain. A stroke occurs when a blood vessel that brings oxygen and nutrients to the brain either bursts or is clogged by a blood clot or some other mass. When a rupture or blockage occurs, parts of the brain does not get the blood and oxygen it needs. Without oxygen, nerve cells in the affected area of the brain can't work properly, and die within minutes. And when nerve cells can't work, the part of the body they control can't work either. The devastating effects of a severe stroke are often permanent because dead brain cells aren't replaced. Did you know that young people often experience stroke? The common causes of stroke in young people are the same as older people; high blood pressure, diabetes, and heart disease are the most frequent causes of stroke for everyone? Did you know that a Stroke is a brain seizure that occurs due to a clot or bleeding in the brain, which causes brain cells to die. Thats why people have to be retrained to walk and talk? Did you know that there are two main types of stroke, a hemorrhagic stroke and a ischemic stroke. Did you know what an ischemic stroke is? Ischemic stroke is caused by blockage of a blood vessel, this is the most common type. It accounts for about 87 percent of all strokes. It occurs when a blood clot (thrombus) forms and blocks blood flow in an artery bringing blood to part of the brain. Blood clots usually form in arteries damaged by fatty buildups, called atherosclerosis. When the blood clot forms within an artery of the brain, it's called a thrombotic stroke. These often occur at night or first thing in the morning. Another distinguishing feature is that very often they're preceded by a transient ischemic attack. This is also called a TIA or "warning stroke." TIAs have the same symptoms of stroke but only last a few minutes; stroke symptoms last much longer? Did you know a hemorrhagic stroke is caused by bleeding? When a blood vessel bursts, causing a hemorrhage inside the brain. This is a hemorrhagic stroke. It may be caused by intracerebral hemorrhaging, when a blood vessel bursts within the brain or a subarachnoid hemorrhage, when a blood vessel on the surface of the brain bleeds into the area between the brain and the skull in subarachnoid space. Did you know that bleeding strokes have a much higher death rate than strokes caused by clots? Remember if someones experiences a TIA, they should urgent medical care immediately. Did you know almost one in four men and one in five women aged 45 can expect to have a stroke if they live to 85 years? Did you know what the signs of a stroke are? • facial weakness • arm or leg weakness • speech problems• a loss of half the visual field Did you know that stroke is the third biggest killer and the leading cause of severe disability in the US? Did you know that more than three times as many women die from stroke than breast cancer.? Do you know how to avoid a stroke? First, the doctor could help to treat any medical conditions that could lead to or provoke a stroke. It is extremely important to prevent stroke if possible. If left untreated, over time the aforementioned conditions may damage the arteries and some other parts of the body as well. High blood pressure or hypertension is also an important problem your doctor should consider. The goal is preventing a possible stroke as a serious consequence. Heart disease and irregular heartbeat called atrial fibrillation, as well as diabetes, are also conditions your doctor should treat to prevent stroke. However, the doctor is not the only one who can help; we can do a few things to help ourselves as well. First, we must take care of the diet. A diet high in fatty foods causes cholesterol to build up in the blood and arteries to narrow, while too much salt can lead to high blood pressure. Being overweight (especially obese) puts extra strain on the heart. All these things are important when we talk about human mistakes that provoke strokes. Too much alcohol is dangerous, as many other conditions and diseases of the body relate to this substance. Regular heavy drinking raises blood pressure, while binge drinking can cause a blood vessel in the brain to burst. We should all exercise regularly, because an inactive lifestyle can contribute to furring of the arteries. Regular exercise helps keep the heart and bloodstream healthy and prevent a possible stroke. Smoking causes higher blood pressure and makes the blood thicker because the chemicals in tobacco smoke are absorbed into the body, damaging blood vessel walls. Therefore, try to avoid stroke by reducing your risks, treating all the possible causes of stroke. Did you know you should have your blood pressure checked regularly, avoid smoking and heavy drinking, exercise regularly, cut down on salt and fatty foods, and eat plenty of fruit and vegetables. We all know that food has an impact on all aspect of our lives, each organ in our organism and each process. Therefore, the importance of a healthy diet warrants no further explanation. Did you know that rehabilitation and recovery is most improvements in a person’s ability to function in the first 30 days after a stroke are due to spontaneous recovery. However, rehabilitation is still very important. For the most part, successful rehab depends on how early the process begins, the extent of the brain injury, the survivor’s attitude, the rehabilitation team’s skill, and the cooperation of family and friends. People with the least impairment are likely to benefit the most, but even with slight improvement, rehabilitation can mean the difference between returning home and staying in an institution. Did you know if I did not write this blog that you may not have know this valuable information that could save your life?
